+3 870 Extensions?

Howdy,

I wasn’t able to find anything in the search section regarding this so…

I currently have an 870 with the 20in barrel and rifle sights. Seems that the right accessory for this setup would be a +3 extension. The only ones available it seems are from Tac-Star, Remington factory, and S&J.

Does anyone have any experience with the +3 extensions?

Is the Remington factory part that much better than the Tac-Star? What about the S&J?

I don’t know about the S&J or Tac-Star. But I do have a factory extension on a 18 in. gun and it is a solid piece of equipment. Another couple you might check out is Wilson Scattergun or Vang Comp

I have a Nordic Components +3 on my Benelli M1. Built very tuff, looks great, and reasonably priced. Looks like they make one for the 870 too.

+1 on the factory. I know there are some after market parts that get good reviews, but my factory extension has been flawless.

The 870 extensions I have personally used and like the best are:

  1. Vang Comp
  2. Scattergun (Wilson) the early ones needs to be rewelded
  3. Remington factory, the pattern has changed slightly due to express guns VS old wingmasters, the new brackets are are marked with an “X”

I would avoid tacstar, FAB, TDI ect…

Although I do not own one, the 870 extender from Nordic Concepts with the bracket does look promising, perhaps I will try one sometime in the future…
