Pix on the Pride Fowler seem to show the 25th ID with these scopes in action. I have tried one (on loan from a friend of John Pride) and have my own impressions. I was interested if anyone knew of the Army’s use of these scopes or someone in the 25ID that had some info. thanks
The majority of 25ID guys I saw when I was passing thru their AO had TA01NSN’s with what I have thought was the DR Optic – but I am guessing was the PF sight now.
I am guessing they RFI’d them – since they where only unit I have seen so equipt. most other units have Aimpoints, EOTECH’s or TA31’s, and some TA11’s
I work for PFI, what is your question?

PM sent…
I was just curious whether the Army adopted them or what feedback they had about them. I used one of the 3-9x that John gave to ***** for a little bit and liked it quite alot ( the reticle). I was hoping for a few other features to be added as time passed and talked to John at the SAR show a while back.
Anything new in the works in regards to the telescopic sights? I have been considering a new purchase for a new 308 rifle…
Thanks
Mike
As I understand it:
An Army unit(NG I believe) selected the RR800-2 for their deployment to Iraq. While there, a Marine detachment saw/shot them and placed their own order(few weeks ago).
The feedback from the NG has been very positive.
New and continuing developments are the 1-4X for the M16 platform and the Rapid Z line at Zeiss.

This thread is pretty damn useless without pictures!!
Of a RR800?..
Here is one of the RR800-2 on a Rem VSF at the 600yd line:

My unit was only issued M68’s and TA01NSN’s before this last deployment. Some other units got a lot more thru the unit RFI and the 25th is spread out here quite a bit so I cant say much for anyone outside the Aviation Brigade.
My bad – I had though you where talking about the PF mini red dots.
Me too.
