Hi guys i just changed the upper reciever on my dpms to a flat top. when i did i noticed on the barrel that it said .223 but the dpms lower said 223/5.56 on it. i have been running 5.56 in for a while now (about 1000rds) and never seen this on the barrel. Am i ok to keep running 5.56 thru this? Its a heavy barrel 18"
I would stop running 5.56. You increase your chances of having something bad happen. I did the same thing for a while because my barrel wasn’t even marked.

Don’t shoot 5.56 in a 223 barrel. Always go by the barrel not the lower!!
