Do any manufacturers out there produce a .22 mag conversion? It would be a great SHTF rifle. You can drop just about any game in North America with proper shot placement and have the ability to easily carry 1000+ rounds. 5.56/.223 is a great round but I wouldn’t want to haul more than a few hundred rounds through the hills.
It’s been tried. Too many blown cases for the manufacturers to risk the liability.
Nordic is working on a dedicated upper but they have been for some time.
