Was watching Gun Blast’s Shot Show 2013 video and saw this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eNUt-PTOU3w#t=695s
Uses 5.56 mags, bolt, etc… And gives you a 6.35mm/.25" barrel launching an 87gr bullet at 3000fps for 1700fl/lb of energy (according to the rep).
Seems like a happy medium between .300BLK and .223Rem.
I had never heard of this before. Googling only found one hit on the gunloads forum and that was it.

That’s 25x45 Sharps correct…?
It is nice if you like the quarter bore…
I like the 6mm, 6.5mm, & 7mm all make more sense to me…
The 6.5mm being the sweet spot in a .223 based round like the
6.5mm PCC cartridge having better BC and projo selection etc.
JMHO…YMMV.

Yeah, I think that’s the one.
I guess that’s why googling failed me on that.
Quite interesting, although I think you are right. There seem to be much better options unless you just want to be different.
I’m sure it already has GunBlast’s unconditional recommendation.
I think the future is in slightly longer mags and maybe 6-6.5mm projectiles. The distant future that is.
Its funny how we never traded a little bit of freedom of religion after the Jonestown Massacre.
The highest of all honors.

Indeed, kind of like those long 6.8 PMAGs that were recently discussed.
When I search on this I get articles from 2011 SHOT where I guess it was introduced as vaporware.
It sounds cool, but how many alternative wildcats do we need? I can see pretty good cases for 6x45 and 6.5 MPC, and neither of those seems to have taken off at all. I guess if I was retired and enjoyed forming and trimming brass I’d have several of these, but until then something needs an affordable commercial loading to be attractive.

Well said.
It seems every other day there is some new wildcat out there.
