Because some of the clubs that are in the USPSA Kentucky Section host their matches at a facility that is inside of Indiana. At one time, 4-5 USPSA affiliated clubs were shooting at the Silver Creek Conservation Club, but now it’s down to two (Silver Creek and Hidden Hills). It might be better to refer to it as the Kentucky Section Championship, but I don’t make those decisions (I’m just the guys who does the scores and one of the many shooters).
Silver Creek is a great place to hold a match. They’ve hosted two Area 5 matches recently and did a great job. I’m not sure why they keep getting the state/section match, but they do. The members of Silver Creek and Hidden Hills know how to host a big match!
I suppose if you want the state match at one of the other Kentucky Section clubs you could volunteer yours to be the host next year.
