I am reading “Understanding Firearm Ballistics” by Robert A. Rinker. I picked up the book after seeing it recommended as an informative read here on M4.
From Chapt. 18 MOA, Mils & Evaluation of Target Groups
1 Minute Of Angle = 1.0472"
1 MOA = 1/60 of a Degree (0.01666667)
If get this right, a 20 MOA base is raises the POI 20.944" at 100 yards, giving you more elevation for your powered optic.
Would the degree raise to the base be only 1/3 (0.3333333) of a degree from horizontal?
This seems quite a minor amount.
Anybody know what is the degree angle that these mounts are cut?
Mods, Could this be moved to Optics section.
