I want to build an A2 style rifle (full 20 inch barrel, and non-detachable carry handle.)
I have a specific list of the parts that I want to include (most of the parts would be BCM), but don’t have the time/tools right now to put it together…
I don’t know of anyone locally that could put it together for me, and have not dealt with any 'smiths outside the immediate area (NH), so I am looking for advice on any shops that I could contact.

Just a question, but what barrel did you decide on?
I want to get started on an A2 build but there isn’t a whole lot in the way of assembled 20 inch govt profile barrels from good manufacturers.

I can’t find anything else that fits the bill - DD and LMT evidently do not make/sell 20 inch barrels and Noveske doesn’t have any 20 inch barrels advertised on their website, so that leaves me with BCM…
PK firearms sells a2 uppers with m4 feed ramps with 20 inch gi profile barrels from bushmaster and sabre defense. They are one of the only ones that I know that does this. Personally been thinking hard about getting one.
Yeah, but I want an upper custom built for me, besides the fact that I won’t touch a Bushmaster barrel…
You could always buy the parts you want and send them to someone like adco to have them assemble it for you. Past that check with local gun boards for your area and ask around to see if any local shops can handle it.
Let be a little more descriptive in what information I need help with.
I need to find a reputable gunsmith that has quite a bit of experience with the AR-15 platform to assemble a couple of stripped barrels for me, using the right components and proper assembling procedures.
Its not hard to build yourself…
The barrel that I want to use is stripped, so I’ll need someone with the capability of drilling and pinning the FSB, etc.
I have assembled uppers before, but this upper isn’t goin to be easy for me based on the particular parts in question.
Someone above mentioned ADCO. Send it to them if you are serious about this project.
I also recommend contacting ADCO as well.

Grab one of the FNMI barrels from gunnyssurplus.
They have real USGI uppers complete and stripped too.

Then a month later Gunnys had USGI A2 uppers for $85… :mad:
