Anyone know of a mfg that produced these?
For a registered weapon or some kind of trigger gimmick?
What would be the point? I honestly have not found one good use for anything ‘burst’ on a M4/M16 platform other than just clowning around. And I didn’t find 3-round bursts all that fun I don’t think 2-round would be anything better.
Now the M16 Bradley FA model w/ double buffer springs… that was kind of fun. But I’ve only shot one of those a handful of times and would definitely do again if given the chance.
This would be for a police department build. FA is not politically correct and some feel a 3rd burst may be too much. I know it could probably be made out of a 3rd burst kit, but a commercial kit is much more desirable and defensible.

Good grief… I feel bad for you guys.
I dont think any commercial kits exist for that purpose as anything that goes bang more than once in one trigger pull can be or is, even, considered FA, thus, not readily available to the commercial market. Your best bet would be to modify a tri-burst kit somehow. HOw about a good 2-stage trigger instead?
Our non-SWAT MP-5’s have the 2 round burst option. Tried it a few times in training and steel carbine matches. I found I was much faster and more accurate with two semi-auto trigger presses. Not very useful IMHO. I would tell the department to spend their money on something else they can actually use.
As for AR 2rd burst triggers… never even heard of them. Word was the 3rd burst triggers actually degraded the semi-auto trigger press because of the design. I’m sure there are folks on this site who can speak to that more intelligently.
Idea came from another local agency that has 2 rd burst on their 5.56 rifles. Unknown brand, but probably HK. Will probably wind up reccomending 3rd burst if nothing else comes up.
I’ve never seen or heard of a 2 rd burst trigger group–strictly 3 rd or FA for M4 family of weapons. I don’t have a lot of time in direct comparison between the two, but some time on both, and I would definitely say FA is preferred. The FA trigger is smoother in both modes, and FA can be controlled with proper training to achieve 2 rd burst. The LEOs I have trained with preferred FA vs 3 rd burst, but it’s understandable (but still wrong) that liability concerns may hold an agency back. Modification of trigger group would require at least a new burst cam, but there may be mechanical and practical reasons why it hasn’t been marketed.
Auto/burst guns have frightfully limited application in LE use. What are you doing with them?
Why deviate from the well established options of FA or 3-round kit?
If a 2-round kit is available, who is making it, what is the expected reliability, and will you invest the time and ammo to verify it?
“A PD build”? Converting something already in inventory, and NFA compliant?
This, for sure! You can do a hammered pair almost as fast as a two round “burst” anyway.
