1st quarter NICS checks...new record

I can’t find confirmation of these numbers yet, but if true I wouldn’t count on the scarcity of firearms, ammo, and parts/accessories letting up anytime soon. Although MSR’s are going fast, I heard on Fox today that by far the biggest increase in gun sales has been pistols. The total number do jive with other data I’ve found that indicates monthly NICS checks in the first three months of 2013 being 2,495,440, 2,309,393 and 2,209,407, respectively.

The FBI reported a total of 2,209,407 background checks for March, 2013, up almost a half million checks compared to 2012′s record 1,727,821
As of March 31, 2013, the FBI reported 7,014,240 background checks in the first three months of 2013, far and a way ahead of any month in history, and comparable to the full year totals of 8,500,000 NICS checks of a decade ago.

Stranger

I don’t doubt that about handguns at all.

While most of the stores in my area had MSRs of some type, usually it was only 5 or 6 of them.

However, they always had 4 to 8 cases full of handguns.

Last several times I have been to any LGS, at most they had 2 or 3 handguns per case…

I have actually seen more MSRs than I have Glocks.

Here are the raw numbers

Now if these people will just remember what prompted them to go and buy a gun and VOTE!!!

That is enough to turn an election.

An NRA membership would be nice too.

I wish a LGS had a Glock that wasn’t rape pricing. One local gun store has G17 Gen 3’s for $699 and G17 Gen 4’s for $749. I can wait.
