Finally took the leap into the AR world and decided to build one. Adult Lego’s why not! Just mocked up for the moment to see how she will look. Need to torque castle and barrel nut down, just need to find the locktite and anti seize. I got it in the garage somewhere hmmmm

Aero E4M1 upper and lower. 18” Odin works .223 Wylde 1/8. SRC nitrite BCM. Aero 15” free float hand guard. Rifle length w/ adj Odin works low profile gas block. Stock LPK for now. Magpul SL-S. Got a MS4 in route with QD rail socket.

Have a holosun 510 for now but will get a set of Mbus at least. Possibly a 1x6. Depends on how I feel once I get out and run it. Not much experience with scopes and such. Always been a good shot with irons. The 510 is my 1st red dot. Tried lasers in past, not a huge fan. Very familiar with the platform just not sure of the direction yet.

ARs are more like building from an Erector Set than Legos.
Neither of those nuts you mentioned use loctite or antisieze. Get some aeroshell and you’ll be good to go.

Yeah, don’t put loctite on the castle nut, just stake it, as per the TM.
And this should be in the Custom Build forum with the rest of ours.
Anti seize helps with timing. https://youtu.be/vxaYsvogAO8 and the blue loctite is just extra for castle nut. I could be wrong though. Feel free to share your pros and cons.

Plus one for skipping the blue loctite on a castle nut. The object is not simply to secure the nut to the threaded tube. If you’re averse to staking for some reason, my friends and I have had no problems with the PWS ratchety version. But staking is the standard.
I’ll defer to people smarter than me on whether the antiseize is a good idea. I generally use grease, like everyone else here, on my barrel nuts.
