1911 wanted

I do stand corrected, have not been shopping for 1911’s in a bit and had my names wrong. Range Officer is correct.

Dan Wesson 1911s are the best value 1911s on the market.

“For a dedicated and knowledgeable end user, the 1911 has no equal. For non-dedicated personnel, they are better served by a modern, low maintenance weapon such as a Glock, SIG, or HK.”

“No equal”? I think that’s a silly and ridiculous statement. This guy is telling me that out of the thousands of combat pistols that have been made, not a SINGLE one has been able to match or exceed a 1911 in performance? Let’s also consider that the vast majority of pistols today use a barrel locking mechanism from the 1911/Hi Power. I like Larry Vickers statement regarding the 1911 better. It’s like these fanboys that think the AK and AR15 are the only good combat rifles and everything else is total garbage. And there are plenty of dedicated and knowledgeable people that use/prefer pistols that aren’t 1911’s. Regardless of your dedication and skills, anybody who tells you that you are at a disadvantage for using a pistol that’s not a 1911 is a fool.

I own a colt rail gun, but it was a little over 1000 as said above the SA range officer is a good 1911 under 1000

If you can inspect it in person before you buy, then a SA loaded isn’t a bad way too go.

Kimber TLE II is pretty good if you are just going to buy it, break it in, and leave it alone.

If you intend on becoming a “1911 guy” and modifying the gun to be what YOU want…do yourself a favor and start with a Colt. Either a 70 series or a 1991.

DO NOT be too quick to hate on firing pin safeties. They can be a good thing on a carry gun.
