My Colt Combat Elite came with a FLGR that I want to swap out for a regular (original) length guide rod. I ordered one from Brownells and it looks like I ordered a Commander sized guide rod instead of the original size one. Before I send it back, is there any problem with using the Commander sized guide rod in my CCE?? There is a small size difference in terms of length but if it doesn’t harm anything I may just use the Commander sized one instead. Thanks.
I don’t know for sure, but I would send it back to Brownells and get a regular 5" guide rod.
You need the full size rod. A commander plug will work but I wouldn’t.
