So I’m looking to get a set of G10 grips for my Baer TRS but can’t quite make up my mind on which ones to get. Which G10 grips do you like?
Feel free to post pics.
VZ Grips. In the interest of full disclosure, we are good friends and we are collaborating on the Frag-pattern grips
Yep, there are other good ones out there, but I’ve had great luck with VZ as well.
My custom Springfield with VZ grips:
The frags are on my list! I’m just not too sure how they will look on my TRS. One thing I’m looking for is maximum front to back - strap coverage and carry comfort but as I understand it I could give them all a little work-over with some sanding paper if they are too rough.
VZ Grips for me too. I just purchased and installed a set of Operator II’s on my Kimber Pro Carry. I love the look and feel.
for G10 grips, there is nothing better than the Double Diamond grips from VZ. The are the perfect balance between grippy and not too sharp for ccw. They are the perfect width, not too wide and not too skinny.
I haven’t tried the Frag grips, but they do look cool!
My preference as well. VZ G10 Double Diamonds are what I run on my daily carry TRS.
+1 i really like the elite tactical carry grip from them, especially in a brown color

I really like the 10-8 double diamonds, VZ Ghost and I forget the name of the ones I run on my Vickers Recon.

The Frags are now available in a Double Diamond pattern, too.
Apart from everything else, and before I even knew John, I knew he was a square shooter. It’s good dealing with good guys.
Just installed one of my VZ Operator II’s this morning. The grip bushing came out with the screw on the other, but I like the feel.
Do you have a pic of the DD Frags? Can’t find them on the VZ Site.
After carrying 1911’s for the past 25 years, I have found the following grips to work well: Simonich Gunner Grips for pistols with golf ball or scallop type front strap treatment, VZ Diamond Back Grips for checkered pistols, Pachmayer GM45C rubber grips for issued pistols with plain front straps. I look forward to trying the VZ Frag grips.
I actually just (as in yesterday) got in a new pair of VZ Operator II’s for my LW Champion Operator. I’ve run Gunner Grips on my other 1911 for a while and thought I’d see which I like better. I haven’t gotten a chance to put the Springfield through its paces with the VZ’s on them but dry-firing they seem pretty good.
Oh, and I got “Black Sand” because I wanted it to be pretty.
I thought I was going to sound out there when I said I had Simonich Gunners on one, and GM45C’s on my Springfield Loaded.
Running Alumagrips on my EDC, though other options are on the table. My old VZ Operators were great grips, but just didn’t fit that pistol.
I run VZ aliens on my STI
I like them alot.
Material on VZ operators feels like grips always oily.
Simonich Gunner Grips - not abrasive surface and not slippery, great grips.
I bought a set of VZ Operator II’s after hearing a lot of good stuff about them online.
I found they didnt taper cleanly to the front and back, and so while not thicker in the middle than what I was used to (alumagrips) they did increase the grip circumfrence and the ledge between the edge of the grip and the front and back was not to my liking.
I went back to alumagrips.
I had issues with the alumagrips working loose (even with loctite) and have scince gone to rubber washers on the screws which solves the problem.
Finally installed my VZ Operator II’s and I love them. VZ offers great customer service.
