Who makes decent and affordable 1911 frames?

Try Caspian. They are not cheap but are renowned as some of the best. Some of your “Custom” manufacturer’s use caspian as their recievers.

as with anything dealing with the 1911, you need to define “Decent” and “Affordable”
top quality 1911 frames that i have seen are:
Les Baer
Wilson
Caspain (especially good because you can spec alot of options when ordereing the frame)
I have heard that Fusion frames are quite nice as well. i don’t know if they’re forged like the Wilson and Baer, or cast, like the Caspian
Caspian sells frames with cosmetic defects under the name Foster Industries (http://www.fosterind.com/). If you don’t care that they don’t have perfect looks they’re the same quality as Caspian, and cost a lot less.
