Hey guys was curious to what companies are out there that can cut dove tails into my 1911 slide? I have a Colt Series 80 given to me by my father with the built in sights that I just can’t take anymore I need more refined sights. Give me all the considerations you all have. Thank you 
Send it to Novak or heinie if that’s all you need
Although there are many fine 'smiths out there, I recommend sending the slide to whomevers replacement sights you select, if the sights are all you’re planning on doing at this time. The reasoning is simple, Novaks, or Heines, whoever, do a large number of these conversions, and are likely to give you the quickest turnaround, and the best quality work. This does not mean that nobody else is capable, just that my experience with sending components out for little piecemeal jobs like this have not always been positive.
