shes decided she wants to do the burnt bronze cerakote instead of matte black… heres what it looks like, but im trying to talk her into doing the barrel, bushing and trigger all black. and hers will have black grips. Lou at business end customs will be doing my cerakoting for me. guy is one of the best with cerakote, and is a good friend

we took it out this morning and she put about 120 rnds of fmj through it and 7 rnds of pdx1 self defense ammo. not a single ftf or fte, and the thing is pretty damn accurate in both of hands. she likes the bobbed the GS and hammer, so i am going to leave them the way they are. also let her try out a flat and arched msh and she likes the arched better, so now i just need to get a different one and fit it, and see if i can kind of round butt it. she also decided she wants checkering on FS even though she doesn’t like the way it looks. the barrel has a touch of play, but with the accuracy i was able to get out of it ( 1 ragged hole at 25 yrds), i just don’t see a need to do anything different with it. would like to tighten the frame to slide fit up some, but im not that advanced yet. overall, the gun shot very smoothly and accurately with no problems whatsoever. also going to have the ejection port lowered and flared.
cut a magwell into the frame and did some more sanding on the frame.

IF YOUR NOTICE ON THE BACK, THE ANGLE WAS OFF. I DIDN’T NOTICE TILL I TOOK THE PICTURES, BUT IT HAS SINCE BEEN CORRECTED

Other things have been done that I have not posted about in the previous posts. I took a bastard file, and filed the slide sides, to make them even and flat, which also straightened the bevel on slide edge. Undercut the trigger guard, fit a different safety into it also.
This gun is currently at Rogers Precision getting a few things done. He cut low mount novaks sights into the slide, lowered and flared the ejection port, and also made a gold dot front sight for it. Should be getting it back sometime this week, and then this gun and my TRP are going to Lou at Business End Customs for cerakote. Her gun is getting a burnt bronze on the slide and frame, and everything else will be graphite black.
Looks real nice DR! Glad you could get Chuck to work it over for you.

This is an awesome process you are going through. Thanks for taking us through the process
That’s really cool.
FWIW: Springfield GI is my favorite basic 1911 that I’ve shot. If I do another custom build, it’ll be with a GI slide, if I can find one that hasn’t been used.
Thats pretty cool. Got any pics?
Could have sworn I posted some. When I get back to my phone, I’ll upload a mother.
