12th Annual VBPD/FOP Lodge #8
The Virginia Beach Police Department/F.O.P.#8 Pistol Team invites all SWORN Federal, State, Local and Military Law Enforcement personnel to compete in our 11th Annual Pistol Match on April 28, 2007.
The match will be held at the Blackwater Training Center in Moyock, N.C. Sign in will begin at 0830, safety briefing at 0900 and shooting at 0930. Due to security issues at the competition site, ALL competitors and guests will be required to fill out a security form as well as complete the registration form. All competitors will need to have their credentials identifying themselves as FULL-TIME SWORN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S. Members of U.S. Military units may forward a letter from their command verifying their duties in a LAW ENFORCEMENT capacity and utilize their military Identification for entry.
The match will consist of several real life scenario based courses of fire. Accuracy, movement, cover and problem solving will be heavily incorporated. To this end, competitors will utilize INDUSTRY STANDARD, DEPARTMENTALLY AUTHORIZED equipment. Uniform Patrol style holsters, belts and magazine pouches are to be utilized in their ORIGINAL unaltered factory condition. Holsters will have at least a thumb-break/bail retention device. Strapless magazine pouches are authorized as long they are designed to be utilized in that manner. Stock firearms are to be used. Night sights and grips are the ONLY authorized modifications. Race-guns, laser sights, holographic sights, or compensated guns are not permitted.
ALL EQUIPMENT IS SUBJECT TO AN INSPECTION AND A “SHAKE TEST.” Shooters without approved equipment may use approved borrowed equipment. Registration will not be refunded for failure to shoot due to equipment problems. If you have a question about equipment, contact Mark T. of VBPD/FOP#8 Pistol Team at (LEFT OUT ON PURPOSE) The purpose of the match is to improve the skill sets and survivability of lethal encounters of the competitors. We also seek to provide an opportunity for members of our community to share ideas and training techniques for the betterment of all.
Competitors may compete as individuals and two or four man teams. Each competitor will be scored as an individual and their team member’s scores will be compiled for the Team portion of the scoring. Trophies will be awarded to the top three individuals and teams.
The match will be limited to ONE HUNDRED THIRTY shooters and pre-registration is required. The cost for participation is $35 per shooter, which includes lunch. Guests may purchase lunch for additional $5.00 a person the day of the match.
Due to security considerations at Blackwater Training Center, there will be NO registration on the day of the match. All competitors must pre-register! Additionally, the match will not be “open to the general public.” Supporters of competitors, i.e. spouses, families, and other department personnel MUST register with the event. Each person entering Blackwater USA must have completed the security form. Blackwater security personnel will verify all person prior to entry.
