I decided pre election to do a quick build for…reasons unknown?
I used the:
-CMMG LPK from AGSARMAMENT.com
-Spikes Lower from the local gun shop
-Spikes Pistol Buffer and T2 spring system
-Spikes Upper 11.5" complete upper from AGSARMAMENT.com
-Troy BattleRail 12″ MRF-CX
-CAA Saddle (cheek weld secured with tan zip ties bought at Home Depot)
-Troy Claymore Muzzle Brake
-Aimpoint micro T1 w/ LaRue lower 1/3rd co-wit.
-LaRue Thumb brake on the side not seen to go with Magpul AFG.
I wish I could have used the CENTURION or DD 12" FSP cutout for lighter weight but for $150 less the troy will do.
I wanted to know what muzzle brake would be better for controlling the sound and blast but would also suppress some of the flash. The claymore blows a HUGE fireball. Cool at the range or with friends out on their property, but dang. It directs the noise down range semi well but until the tax stamp for the SBR gets back I would like to figure out something a little more…economical?
ALSO. when the tax stamp gets back…slide stock or magpul stock?
How do you like the Troy? I’ve been tinkering with the idea of a FSB rail and the Troy is the more economical choice for sure.
Try a Battle Comp or a Griffin Armament M4SD Flash Comp to help with flash and blast over the Claymore.
Slide stock as in the bump fire stock?
I actually really like the FSB and rail combo. I have a spikes with the low profile block and 13.2" SAR rail and thought the fixed front sight would be annoying. Honestly I don’t even see it when I’m shooting. It feels really solid with that rail and I’m really happy with the Troy. I’ve shot it a about 4 times now and it is my favorite AR even though its a pistol right now.
I did mean bump stock btw.
With those muzzle devices would it matter the rail extending over it. I like the claymore primarily because the rail doesn’t get to hot. The FSB getting blistering hot is something else I will have to get used to. The low profile spikes obviously doesn’t protrude like a cow brand.
I do not know on the muzzle devices under the rail. i cant say i have any experience with that.
Bump stocks IMO are a waste of money and ammo. Kinda fun at first but the appeal wears fast because most cant afford (or even find) the ammo to feed it.
