what kind of accuracy can I expect out to 200 yds?
About the same as out of any other comparable carbine with the same ammo.

Maybe with FTS’s carbine.
Everyone else’s, the bullet goes a few feet and hits dirt .
200yds I don’t consider long range. 11.5" is no feat to make hits at that distance. Simply aim, pull, rinse, repeat
I don’t know how much this helps but I can hit a 12" steel plate at 200yds with 10.5".
I’m no expert, but I’d think out to 200 yds you wouldn’t see much difference
There’s a point where barrel length is going to make a difference, but I don’t know that point.
Long barrels “can” be more accurate due to the more consistant velocities, due in part to more complete buring of the powder in that length of tube. Length along does not add accuracy (other than if using iron sights, with greater sight radius).
On the other hand, in a very short barrel, like 7.5 or 10.5 or 11.5… you’re likely to see greater inconsistancy in velocity, which will have an effect on accuracy. At a certain distance, that will make a profound effect. I’m not sure if 200 yds is that distance or not. A quality short barrel can shoot very accurately, especially if the ammo is tailored for that particular barrel length.
All those generalities, but it really didn’t answer your question. With good ammo, and good optics I’d not be surprised if you got under 2moa (4 inches at 200 yards, give or take). If the stars line up just right, you’ll do better.
At any rate, I would not be on the recieving end of fire from a 11.5 inch barrel AR at 200 yards.
I have a 11.5 barrel AR that I did bowling pins shoots at 300 m. When I was stationed at Ft Lewis… (87-88) I didn’t have any issues with hitting them, I was shocking and pissing off the High power shooters with M1s M14 and other rifles. When I first went I was told that a AR was a POS was inaccurate and unable to shoot that far. I was just some dumb ass PVT that didn’t know. According to them…in the know shooters.
Accuracy is unaffected (maybe even increased) by shorter barrels. You just have to watch your drop and wind. I shoot a 12.5" out to 600 yards. Trident, a member here, shoots his 10.3" to like 747 yards or something insane.
And of course a lot of the accuracy counts on the ability of the nut behind the hook.
i have gotten around 3" group at 200yds with a 11.5
I have a 10.3, a few 11.5s and a 12.5 sbrs. I have T1 optics on all but the 12.5. So at that distance, put the dot on target and pull the trigger. Hit, hit, hit… Every time. These barrel lengths are intended for CQB. If you are trying to build a rifle that groups well and accurate past 200 you are ideally using the wrong barrel lenght. Sure you can shoot farther then 200. But will your velocity and energy be enough to take down what your shooting at? If I’m shooting anything past 200 yards, anything but a SBR is coming out of the safe. Just my 02.
