New here to the forums. I have a question that I know someone has the answer to. I have an SBR AR with a 14.5" 1/9 barrel (I know $200 for an inch and a half!). I’m looking at going to an 11.5" 1/7. My question has to do with gas port size. I am currently running an Osprey gas piston kit (I like it so don’t try and talk me out of it). I know if I got a 11.5" it would have the correct size gas port.
My question (took long enough). If I got a 16", 14.5", or 12.5" 1/7 barrel (currently looking for a good deal) would I have to adjust the gas port size if I then had it cut down to 11.5" or 11"? I know if I was running DI I would but the piston kit throws a curve ball in it.
