Did it recently change? It was a 190gr as far back as 2006.
Negative. It was 180 grain from the beginning, when FBI FTU handloaded it themselves.
It used to be the 180gr, but I can assure you that for at least the past 6+ years, this has been the duty round for the MP5.
Finally got around to taking a pic. This is the beast that started this whole search for decent 10mm. Glock 21gen4 with cerakoted frame in FDE, slide and internals in Robar NP3plus, and Viridian Green Laser/Light combo. The barrel is a 6-inch, KKM 10mm drop-in.

Wish Federal still made that 190gr load. My Deltas like it just fine.
When I owned a Glock 20, my first range session with a variety of factory 10mm demonstrated pressure blisters from about 5-7 o’clock on some cases (Hornady especially). I concluded this was from lack of case support as I looked at brass in the chamber with the barrel pulled.
I order a drop-in Storm Lake barrel (Brownell’s) and this problem went away. The good news is that the barrel did in fact just drop right in and of course I could shoot all the lead reloads I wanted as well. The not so good news was no demonstrated increase in accuracy. The earlier poster’s suggestion to look at KKM barrels might be good advice, although it might also take a gunsmith-fit barrel to really realize marked accuracy increases is this is the objective.
My '20 went to on to another owner since I couldn’t get it to shoot up to the high standards set by my two, customized Deltas.
I use the Buffalo Bore heavy, hard-cast .45 ammo in a 1911 with a fresh 18.5# recoil spring when I hike in bear country if I haven’t had time to do revolver transition (then it’s Garrett “Hammerheads” in .44 Magnum).
I was told, right or wrong, that other than the rifling, the KKM most closely resembles the tolerances of the factory Glock barrel. I have always been paranoid about straying too far from factory parts when it comes to defensive handguns.
Not to get too far afield from the OP, but I mentioned the KKM barrels because I bought one in .357 Sig for a Glock 35. Accuracy was fine and the barrel dropped right in.
The converted 21SF above and watching LAV clanging steel w a 20SF back to 250 yards in a walk-back drill has about pushed me over the edge…
I’ve got a used G29 I got as an impulse buy, but a 20SF or converted 21SF has me about ready to take the plunge.
Wish someone made a 5-in. aftermarket G29 bbl so I could get Delta Elite velocities out of it.
I have been toying with the idea of putting a red dot on it but I keep going back and forth on milling the slide.
That is a great looking blaster! Have you given it a proper workout at the range yet?
I say get the red dot on the slide.

KKM barrel I got in last week fits nice and snugly in the frame I tested it in. shiniest bore I’ve ever seen in a new pistol barrel actually, very nice workmanship. called them to ask about the snugness and they said they actually designed it to have a better headspace.
GREAT customer service and very knowledgeable guys. cant recommend them highly enough thus far. took them less than a week to get a custom order to me. Chamber support is much better than the factory or Lone Wolf.
