Does anyone know, or could you direct me to a site, of what the standard velocities are out of a 10.5 & 11.5" Barrel w/ M193 & M856?
Geez, I never thought I’d get into an AR, now I’m toying around the idea of an SBR & a Can! :eek:
I’m kicking myself for not chronoing some M193 when I had the chance a few weekends back. I ran my handloads at 2540 fps out of my 11.5, and didn’t think to run some full powered ammo for comparison at the time. 
Well, don’t you just feel awful :mad:. Now, there’s a good chance I will have to wait several hours or a day before someone posts with the answer. Damn, I knew I shouldn’t have joined this forum!

I didn’t know the guy was bringing the chrono out or I’d have planned more research.

I’m going out at the end of this week to sound meter several suppressors on various host weapons. I’d be happy to chronograph various ammo too. I’ll share the results we get.

I need to put the info in a meanful chart similar to what CarlosDJackal has done (which looks awesome!).
Rough data though is:
16" Bushy barrel; 55-grain Prvi = 3188 average
11.5" Sabre barrel; 55-grain Prvi = 2939 average
11.5" Sabre barrel; M855 = 2844 average
10" HK416 barrel; M855 = 2686 average
We were mostly doing sound metering with various suppressors and mostly with 7.62 cans. We had some other ammo but needed to focus on just the Prvi and IMI M855 as far as the 5.56 testing was concerned. I’ll put together some more complete data in the next few days.

Thanks for the great info! I’m surprised how fast the Prvi is out of the 11.5" Sabre. Are the Sabre barrels 1/7 ? The HK?
The Prvi shocked us too. Fast stuff there. Yes, the Sabre is 1:7. Ya know, I don’t remember what the twist is on the 416. The 16" Bushy is a 1:9.

I didn’t know that Sabre made an 11.5" barrel. Do they make a complete upper in 11.5"?
