I would like to get some feed back from some of you more experienced in SBR.
I just got my stamp approved and I’m converting from AR pistol over to SBR. I’m currently using a Shockwave buffer tube and arm brace.
Need help deciding on either going with VLTOR A5 setup which I have heard many mention on the forums for SBR use and everyone seems happy with it. I would like to know if any of you with this VLTOR setup are running lightweight BCG and how it handles.
My current setup has low felt recoil in combination with SLR gas block and JPSCS buffer system. Just wondering if it’s worth going to the VLTOR setup or just get a Milspec buffer tube and magpul stock and use existing buffer and spring setup.
I run many V A5’s. But try what you have first and see if you like it. It might be ok. Probably not as good as A5, but still might be fine. As long as it runs…
Pappabear there is no doubt my current setup is smooth, I’m just always looking for a way to improve it. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the VLTOR but I haven’t seen anyone mention using it with lightweight BCG or titanium BCG. That’s where I’m curious and asking for feedback.
I did a lot of testing with buffer and spring setups to get where I’m at with my setup… But never tested the VLTOR.
There’s nothing magic about the Vltor. It simply replicates the Rifle buffer system in an adjustable stock RE set up. If you’re replacing the RE and buffer system, you might as well go with the Vltor A5 system.
