You are probably aware LaRue Tactical held a big Range Day event this past weekend. It was a blast, and a big thanks to LaRue for putting it on.
While I was there, I got to shoot a fully automatic, short barreled, suppressed, OBR Lite in 5.56. I’m not sure if they have announced/released this rifle yet, but I sure hadn’t seen it. The shortest barrel they show on their website is a 12", but this was a 10.5". It was outfitted with a SureFire suppressor.
Sorry the pics aren’t the greatest, but I thought you guys might like to see them:
The line to shoot it moved slowly because they wanted to let the suppressor cool down some between each shooter.
That has to be the lighting. Just a shadow looking like a gap, but that’s just a guess since I wasn’t there…
If you’re on a laptop, tilt your screen forward (like you’re looking down from above). This causes the screen to get lighter, along with the image, and you can see there appears to be the little indent as usual where the back of the lower goes from being thicker than the upper to the same size to meet the thicker rib of the back of the upper…
i’m pretty sure it’s just a shadow line between the built up area of the lower’s RE rise and the upper… the receivers being billet, are thicker in places than standard forged receivers- looks like larue leaves a nice fat band of aluminum in that spot on the lower.
Sorry for the lack of quality here, but I was working on the small file and I figured no one would care how it looked…
I apologize for using your image Scott2501, but I figured in this instance it was helping. I’m a photographer, so I’m usually pretty careful about these things. I’ll remove if it you’d like.
