If you zero in your scope @ 200yrds on full magnification (8x’s), will the scope be zeroed in for all other magnifications at 200 yards? (1-7x)
Yes it will be zero’ed at 1-7. If you have a ballistic or BDC reticle it will only be correct (calibrated) at one magnification level.

That is really good to know. Thanks Matt.
Would you want the BDC for a Scar-H?
That depends entirely if the reticle is FFP or SFP as to if the BDC would be accurate at any magnification. For a FFP reticle, it would be, for SFP, only at the highest magnification.
Some cheap SFP scopes can suffer POI shifts, but none of the manufacturers offering 1-8s fall into this category.
IMO, I prefer reticles with mil or MOA subtentions as opposed to BDC. A BDC will only be 100% accurate with one type of ammo at a given velocity. If you know your holds, you can do the same with a mil or MOA reticle, but across a wider spectrum of barrel and ammunition combinations.
Thanks again. There is a lot to consider. Does the S&B short dot, z6i, or the CQBSS have mil or MOA subtentions? Been looking at all three because I am going to get one for a birthday present.
