Definitely #1
It is the lightest, handiest, and fastest up close, but the accuracy of the Centurion upper with a 5x scope is addictive.

Has anyone else had alignment problems with their Troy Alpha rail? I lined up my top rails and torqued everything down tight. After that I noticed that there was a small amount of space between the alignment lug and the upper reciever. On two seperate shooting outings, the rail has turned clockwise until the lug is flush with the reciever. Naturally this throws off my irons. I PM the troy rep through this forum, and sent them an actually e-mial, but no response back. Its a very popular rail and I like it quite a bit, but this is definitely a deal breaker should I not be able to get it sorted out.
Come on Stamp!!! 3 months down, 3 to go???

Does anyone else have a problem trying to figure out were to put all the stickers you get with orders from BCM. What a top notch company, a small reward just for ordering from them. If I can get it from Paul I don't bother to look anywhere else.

Wow....first Munch's Mk12, and now Buckjay's Recce! I'm officially done discussing light precision AR building with my pals on here, as I'm beginning to get a wee bit jealous:D
In all honesty I really love seeing both those rifles, and see so much of my own tastes in them both. Nice to see folks do the homework, and then put it into practice.
Wow, now those are nice rifles. Which one do you think shoots better? the 16" or the 14.5"

I just got the 16" back from Marvin Pitts today, going to the range tomorrow. I expect great things from it (the 14.5" shoots amazingly soft and accurate). The 16" with recon barrel and 2.5-10 is definitely a lot heavier, but its going to serve a different purpose.

Thanks bud. As Buckjay put it, you had a lot to do with the components and I appreciate the help.
I was a little worried about the A5 system with the MK12 upper, but function was 100% on the first 100 rounds last night. I'm amazed at how smooth the 'recoil' is. Even at 10x, it's effortless to clean up for the next shot.

It's similar with slate tile, you lay them all and it looks blah until you run a wet rag over them or coat in a gloss sealant. I think if you did that with that same picture you would get some really cool earthy tones and those two cases that are still brass in color would really pop. That was my first thought when I saw it but it may just end up looking like hell. What do I know? I'm not a photographer. lol

Not intended as a slam against anyone, I just only post a gun photo when I have enough that's new or changed to warrant a new photo.
But thanks for the compliment.

It is an AR15 picture thread, with nearly 700 pages it by definition is a thread full of pictures of AR15 rifles over and over again. My wife doesn't understand the "looking at guns" thing either, she says "They all look the same."

LMT MWS (or MRP) with folding stock??? Do you have a custom buffer setup, or is that a folding buffer tube with the bcg exposed?
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z152/eternal24k/middy.jpg?t=1335732484
Its an MWS (but work with any AR 5.56 or .308) with standard gas and recoil system parts. The exception is the addition of the folding stock adaptor, installed between the receiver and the stock buffer tube. when open, the face of the buffer is exposed, the bcg is not exposed as the adaptor includes a bcg extention that inserts into it from the back.

Is that digital camo grip tape?
No I wish. It's duct tape. I don't think anyone makes digital grip/hockey tape. I've seen just about every other camo under the sun on grip tape but digital.
I just did that last night on one mag, for no other reason than aesthetics. It's pinned at 10 rounds for NY and I hardly use it.

I thought you found something I would be quite interested in as well as several of my friends. Okay, I have no friends but if I did they would most certainly want some of this stuff as well. :D

Not grippy like skateboard tape, but a little more texture, and it only sticks to itself so no gluey residue if you decide to take it off.
Just an option don't know if it's what you're looking for.

Thanks but I'm looking for something that I can attach to Pmags like he has or like those grip tape kits you can buy but in Desert Digital camo. Not sure why it's taken so long to come out with designer versions of those Pmag panels but apparently nobody thought of it.
It is an AR15 picture thread, with nearly 700 pages it by definition is a thread full of pictures of AR15 rifles over and over again. My wife doesn't understand the "looking at guns" thing either, she says "They all look the same."
I have to admit that at some point I nearly thought the same.
But then I just remember that I could park my black Harley in an entire parking lot filled with other black Harleys and pick mine out from just a glance.
And just like the never-ending threads of Harleys, I never get tired of looking at 'em... Bone-stock or glitzed out, they're all cool in some way. :)

Very nice, specs? I'm trying my best to NOT get a similar set up, I need a new bedroom set, damn it!
Noveske 16" Light Recce Lo-Pro Upper w/ the NSR 13.5" Rail
Noveske BCG
New GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle
Noveske N4 Gen2 Flared Forged Lower
Geissele SSA-E Trigger
Battlecomp 1.0
Magpul STR Stock w/ BCM Buffer Tube and a H2 Buffer
Aimpoint Micro H-1 w/ lower 1/3rds co-witness mount
Still need some BUIS...I'm thinking the KAC micro flip-ups, but I need to sell my bushmaster 14.5" (16" OAL) carbine first (that's what this is replacing)
I've had the lower all set to go for about 2-3 months and when this upper came along I was instantly sold.

Skeebinz looks great!
Did you build it?
Does the NSR get hot and if so is it just around the GB?
What do you think so far how does the NSR feel to you?
Yeah, the lower was all individual parts I got and put together. Bought the upper as a whole. I've had the lower complete for about 2-3 months before I got this.
I shot about 100rds through it today, holding pretty much at the gasblock the entire time and it was not uncomfortable at all at any point (not that it is a really good gauge of anything because I was just sighting it in)
It is extremely slim and I can wrap my hand around it entirely (I have normal sized hands) yet it feels solid and well put together. For someone with large hands it will feel pretty small, smaller than similar rails (the Troy, etc). It is very sleek...the metal of the rail matches the black of the lower...before I received it some of the pics online had a distinct difference in blacks between the upper and rail so I was curious as to what it would look like in person. Only thing that sucks is that I can't get my hands on any of the key panels / accessories / rails yet but Noveske will have them in stock soon, I'm sure :)
But yeah overall I am really impressed for only having it a day, and I'm happy with the purchase. I was up in the air over whether or not I should go for the 14.5 w/ 11" rail or the 16" with the 13.5" rail, but I decided with the 16" for more rail real estate and a interchangeable break.

Thats where you went wrong...you don't use water. Just enough CLP everyday to keep it wet will do the trick. You dont want to drown it.
The one above sprouted a DDM4v7 and a SR-15.
A buddy of mine tried growing one with some .223 bulbs and got a Bushmaster and Rockriver:D.

You can. I've used these guys for resoling for years; http://www.rubberroomresoles.com/index.htm
They'll resole anything you like with your choice of rubber. I've had Stealth rubber put on several pairs of Sportivas and and more than a few Boreals.

Lots of parts in the mail, going to basically be a completely new rifle to me. Only parts I am reusing are the lower receiver, safety, bolt catch, mag release, stock tube w/buffer and spring, upper receiver, and barrel. Hardest part was getting off the paint
This one's starting to get heavy. Anyone know where I can get a lightweight mount for my front auxiliary weapon light?

Thats funny, but not too far off from the truth.
Is the A2 FH on side ways?

Figured you guys would get a chuckle out of it. I had to laugh as well. I love the random compass mounted on the stock and the steel bird emblem attached to the scope, wtf?
Yes.

Well, it's taken me a bit of time - but I've finally got one to share. I've always been a pistol guy, this is my first AR. I was torn between the Daniel Defense and a BCM, but I think I've always had my heart set on the DD first. I've grown up shooting them, just never had one until now. She shoots like a dream. My long term plans are to replace the flash hider with more of a break, put a Wilson trigger in, swap the grip for a Magpul, and put on a different butt stock that doesn't grab my beard (hence the tape). Her brothers in arms are from Nighthawk and Ed Brown.

Kimberfan,
How do you like the balance of that UBR with such a light forearm? Just curious. I have a similar with a CTR which is a lot lighter so I am interested in how it shoots.

I haven't had any issues. Yes, it is heavier, switched from a CTR myself, but I feel more "locked in" and follow up shots seem faster (I need a shot timer to confirm that). My barrel is std. govt. profile, a light weight profile barrel might have more pronounced balancing issues.

Can anyone tell me if a nfa stamp is required for purchasing a sbr upper? Was thinking about a new build. In the process of getting the stamp, I wanted to go ahead and purchase the upper. Thanks.

I'd just move the Front MBUS up to the front of the quad rail. You might need to adjust the front sight to compensate for the increased height, but you will only loose an inch or two in sight radius.
