MODEL 7 WITH ALL THE WORK

I just got this gun finished for one of my customers.
It is a Remington Model 7 that I cut to down to 16.5 inch.

The customer and I thought this gun would be nice as a hunting gun in Kentucky the whole gun optic and all is only 6.5 lbs.

With the sling set up this way you can really get your work done when it comes time to clime or go hands on.

What do you guys think of the gun as a hunting gun based around 200lb animals with thin skin.
The gun is in 7mm-08 and one fine little rifle.

That would be absolutely perfect for where I hunt. Dragging around my 11lb .308 is getting old.

    Very nice rifle!

    Looks nice.

Is that the factory stock? Which scope is that on there?

That stock is factory and the scope is a 1.5 to 5 leupold mark III.

I have had no problems taking down South Texas feral hogs well in excess of 200lbs at 75-125 yards with my 16" Ruger Hawkeye Compact SS in 7mm-08. It makes for one hell of an awesome ranch rifle, and I have fallen in love with the concept and 7mm-08. I'd like to replace the laminated stock with a quality synthetic one, and your sling setup has me keenly interested.

Way to go Joe! Another great rifle. I agree with the handyness of this rifle. I had something similar done recently by Wilson Combat. A stainless Ruger compact with laminate stock cut to 16" and Decelerator installed and black Armor Tuff over the stainless. In 308 it was to be my pig killer and all around truck rifle. I like the placement of your sling attachments better than the traditional. Whose base and rings, Optic did you use on this build? It looks great.
