HK REVERSES DECISION OF NO CIVILIAN 416/417 SALES!

It finallly happened. The entire industry is about to change.

The people at LWRC are sure to have some hefty nightmares. SIG is certain to look pretty shabby with their lackluster 556.

This is going to be good

Excellent! Now if they'd only start making the P7 again!

I'll believe it when I see it. It will suck if you spent $4,000+ for an upper though.

    We'll see.

The big problem now is that as we all know, H&K products are sold at a premium price to dealers. And what many don't know is there is usually a very high markup by the dealers.

For example, the H&K 416 30 round magazines are sold to dealers for $30. Now what do they go ahead and charge everyone else? Alot more for as long as possible.

What I see is that if this does indeed go through they won't be anywhere near the $1100 dollar price that LE agencies or military pay.

It will be marked up at least 100% for quite a while. Which is unfortunate, because there is no question the quality is head and shoulders above the rest.

I don't know of anyone that has some good time using the 416 rifle and would not place it in a league of it's own. And what I mean by "good time on the rifle" is more than a few test mags or seeing on at the range passing by.

I would like to think this move will make some of our domestic piston manufactures put a bit less expensive price tag on some of those uppers and rifles.

Or maybe I'm still just dreaming.

I'll consider buying an upper it they ever get competitive with the pricing.

I'll admit that this is kinda exciting though.

Guys, understand that the current pricing is based on the unobtanium factor of the uppers at this time (you know, that old "supply and demand" thing?). If, and I think that's a big if, the rifles and/or uppers are released on the commercial market the prices will come down. Will they be priced like an Oly Plinker? Of course not, but they also won't be commanding $4k/upper either. Do you think that LE departments are paying $4k/upper right now?
