TROY TRX-E 308 Rail - Installed with PICS

Big thanks to TROY for offering yet another 308 rail for us.

This replaced my Daniel Defense LITE 12.0 308 rail.

Also, the Noveske QD mounts fit just as perfectly on these as they do on the 556 TRX-E rails.

11.9oz for the 12.0" WITH the barrel nut!!!

My Noveske 16" 7.62 barrel gets back from KAC dimpling hopefully tomorrow - I'll post pics of the completed lighter setup I've been striving for.

Ok, sorry for the crappy pics- I'll bust out the lamps n what not and do some family photos soon.

Total weight on this thing is now 8.4lbs minus optics (.1lb lighter than an EMC - my goal was to meet an EMC's weight) - the KAC dimpling dropped 6.0oz. and the TRX-E 308 12 rail dropped about about 8.3oz from my DD LITE 12(counting all those darn ladders for the rails) - almost a full pound off the front of the rifle from my first build of this. I also got the boat-anchor UBR stock off and swapped for the SOPMOD - that dropped a ton of weight off the back.
This thing balances freaking PERFECTLY now and easily sits on it's mag on a flat surface - before the TROY and dimple job it'd drop on it's nose right away. Also now I've got F/R QD slots which I really wanted (I hunt with this rifle).

OLD with UBR (9.92 lbs no optics):

OLD with SOPMOD (9.23 lbs no optics):

    NEW (8.4 lbs no optics):

Here's some shots of the fitment - perfect - better than my 556 TRX-E rails.

Nice. I've got it's baby brother in 11" on my AR and love it. The Noveske mounts rock too.

Looking forward to seeing it installed. I have a TRX E going on my 18" comp N6. I think you will be happy with the rail. At SHOT the 308 Troy had on display looked light and felt great.

I like it! Will this go on an Armalite type AR10 also?
    Principles matter.

Nice build. If I didn't have a 16" 762 OBR PredatAR on order, I would build something very similar to yours.

I would also like to see KAC to make the EMC with ambi controls and a LW-URX type rail to drop the weight just a little bit more and I would jump on one of those as well.

It's great to have more choices in 308!
