I have no info... But I want to know if you can remove the manual safety... If so, I'll be getting one.
Zinc slide probably from the looks of it....sigh....
That looks very interesting, but it's the first I've heard. I would certainly be interested in owning one if I could get it without the safety.

I'm no expert, but I took my CCW course at a Holiday Inn Express
I would love one of those. Missing having a .22 version since I switched to shooting just M&P's pistols.
If you search google with the model # 122000 and M&P you'll see other vendors have placeholders for it.
I hope they make a .22 kit in addition to the firearm for us folks in California since it won't make the current approved CA handgun roster.
I've heard talk..... but this is the first time i have seen a picture or proof that it will ever make production.
***For those that asked (just like the full sized M&P's) YES you can take the manual safety lever or levers off. They even sell a plug for the hole.
BUT you can NOT add the manual safety to a model that does not come with one without change of slide and frame.***
Here's the skinny from Smith. I called them this afternoon to see if they could dig up some more info for me.
These are made by Walther in Germany. They are not produced in house.
They're expected in April of 2011 with an initial order of 2500 units.
There are two versions 10 and 12 round magazines.
MSRP is 419.99
That was basically all they could tell me at the current time. What i thought was really kind of funy was the fact that the Smith CS rep that i spoke to said two things.
1. "We should have done this years ago"
2. "We should have produced this ourselves".
Kind of a shame but im really hard up for an M&P .22 trainer. Unless someone gives us definitive info on a .22 conversion at Shot Show ill probably be picking one of these up come April 2011.
