    Informative SOPMOD PDF

    http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2006smallar...h=%22sopmod%22

This is an UNCLASSIFIED PDF on SOPMOD studies, findings, problems and testing by Crane.

Pages 43 thru 51 have some interesting info on bolt/barrel failure and the often forgotten about problem of gas port erosion on M4s.

This is a good read and thank you for sharing it. One of the things that I noticed is that the Govt has FINALLY realized that scheduled PM's is NOT the best way to replace parts. Getting a round count is really the ONLY way to do PM's properly.
