    How accurate is your SCAR?

Mine has impressed me, I'm curious to see what others are getting. Please list specifics (ammo, optic, trigger, etc).

    Mine (SCAR 16):

    Leupold 2.5-8x
    Hornady Steel Match 75gr BTHP
    Factory Trigger
Results: Just under MOA at 100 yards
(I have not had a chance to try other match ammo, would like to soon)

    Aimpoint T1
"Precision Ammo" Brass cased 62gr factory reloads
    Factory trigger
Results: 1.5-2MOA out to 100 yards
(This stuff is impressive for the price. It's my "higher quality" blasting ammo)

    Aimpoint T1
    Wolf 62gr
    Factory Trigger
Results: 3-4 MOA out to 100 yards. Closer to 3MOA but always a few fliers (common with Wolf, in my experience)
    (Typical class ammo for me)

I have a TR24 mounted and access to a 300 yard range. I'd like to spend a bit more time at longer distances, but so far I am quite pleased with the accuracy of the 16.

    SCAR 17s

    Iron sights
    Remington UMC 150 grain FMJ
    Factory Trigger
    Results: 3-4" at 100 yards

Have yet to select a scope for yet. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this rifle.

In my limited experience the Mk-17 is the most accurate rifle in its class. With M118LR they tend to shoot around 1-1.25 MOA and often better. I'd imagine if one were to develop a specific load it cound reduce that quite a bit.

Anecdotally I took a long range shooting course where almost everyone had AR-10 pattern KAC 7.62s with heavy barrels and one guy brought a Mk-17. The guy with the FN shot to the same standards as the guys running dedicated sniper systems. I think the light weight, ruggedness, and ergonomics of the Mk-17 along with the relative accuracy make it a pretty strong choice if one needs a semiautomatic 7.62.

    SCAR 17
About 1.5 moa with match reloads and about 2.5 moa with ball reloads. About 2 moa with Hornaday Factory TAP 155 and 165

Groups were fired using a Nightforce 2.5-10x not the Accupoint in the pic above.
Here is a link to my range reports.

Its a fine battle rifle but its not quite as accurate as I would want for a precision type set up. Althougth I have high hopes for the 20 inch barrel they are supposed to be releasing later this year.

    Scar 16, aimpoint h1.

55gr wolf, about 1moa at 100 (bipod grip)
62gr wolf, about 1moa at 100 (bipod grip) - at 300 pretty accurate hitting a 8inch steel, prone, bipod grip.

Never had accuracy issues aside from me

My 17 reflects the experience of the above two posters. 1-1.5MOA, 2-2.5 at the worst with the crustiest surplus I can get.

Can't wait to throw some optics on mine. Alaskapopo, how do you like the NF 2.5 to 10? My lgs has had one with the Mil-Dot reticle on the shelf for a couple of years and I might be able to negotiate with them.

Posts like this make me shake my head. So your really saying your getting consistent groups of 5 shots at 100 yards at 1.05 inches with Wolf ammo and a red dot using nothing more than a bi pod grip? Or is this a case where you once shot a 3 shot group around 1 inch in the fashion you say so you calling it a 1 moa rifle. There is a huge difference. People all too often exagerate on these type of posts. I once heard a guy claiming to have a AK that could shoot 1 moa and I asked for proof and he never produced it even after saying he would. What I would expect from the ammo your are using with a grip pod and a great trigger puller with a red dot would be around 2 moa.

I put the Nightforce back on my Larue Stealth. The main reason is the scope I had on the Larue was not up to the rifles performance and the Nightforce was not being fully utilized on the SCAR and the Accupoint was a better fit for what I use it for. I do plan on getting a 1.1-8 Leupold for the SCAR eventually.
