If you thought Mossberg went full retard with the Chainsaw 500, take a look at this:

Know your role, and shut your mouth.

Holy crap! There is a section of society that is so fearful of the gubment, they believe the Lever gun is the original Assault rifle and the politically safe choice for defensive use.

They probably run the Taurus Judge pistol too, however.

now I know guys have mounted red dots and lights on their lever guns but usually for late-night pest control when the varmints tend to come out. but that...I lack the vocabulary to fully extrapolate how much I hate that thing.
    I don't collect guns, I accumulate them

The truely sad part is that if they would offer it with a threaded barrel more people would be interested just for supresser use. It seems that it would be easier to buy one w/threads and unf%^k it than find a smith that will do the work to thread one(I dont know why but it seem like noone wants to thread a lever gun).
You can never make anyting idiot-proof, whenever you get close they just build a better idiot.

To thread a lever gun generally requires that the front site base be moved back and the the magazine tube be shortened in addition to the fact that it can be damn hard to chuck a lever gun into a lathe. Most "gunsmiths" really aren't these days and many others who do know how to do it either don't have the appropriate tools or find it to be too much of a PITA for what they can charge for the work. I used to know someone who would only do it if paid by the hour instead of a flat rate.

While its ugly as sin if it were like a Knoxx stock for a lever gun (recoil absorbsion) I would buy it. My 1895 with 430 grain slugs at 1900 fps hurt a lot on both ends.

It's great that there's a option available for a shorter stock without the indignity of buying a "youth" anything. Just how much easier/quicker is it to switch the furniture on these?
