We caused a lot of problems for the British, and the European balance of power in general. Would the Middle East be a ‘better’ place with out Israel? They’d like us to think so, but it would just allow the Sunni-Shia thing to come to the forefront- and it wouldn’t take the energy/oil along with strategic location off the table. Who do we have more in common with culturally, economically, historically?

It’s kind of like the argument that Bush ‘broke’ the Middle East in the 2000s, the place is a major screw-up for the past, what, 700 years?

I’d still like to see how many schools, hospitals, hotels, and apartments could have been built with all the concrete and effort that went into the tunnels and rockets they launched. Dubai (the city) is smaller than Gaza. Literally the safest and most dangerous cities in the world.

How many American hostages is Israel holding right now???
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

    I don't disagree.

However a lot of people that are still called Jews, no longer from the stand point of Orthodox Judaism can be classified as Jews. Due to intermarriage if a Jewish man marries a non Jewish woman, their children aren't Jewish.

Also Biden has lost a lot of Jewish money and he will lose enough votes to cost him the election among Jews, Blacks and Latinos.

So, when faced with who he should support, Biden decided to go with Hamas?
That really wasn't any stupider than 99% of the other decisons he has made so far, so I'm not surprised.
Just in pure practicality, if Biden was logical and really wanted not to piss off American Jews and wanted their donations, why support Hamas?
We will soon give Hamas a lot of cash, how much of that cash will Hamas donate to Biden?
    The fix is in Folks.

Right. Whether or not the US actually has actionable intelligence useful to Israel to take down Hamas is one thing, but that they're claiming to be withholding such is outrageous.

So let me get this strait, if a Jewish man marries a non Jewish woman their kids aren’t Jewish? Even if they’re observant and practicing the Jewish faith?

If that’s the case I have lost all respect for the Jewish faith. Sounds pretty racist and bigoted to me.

If memory serves, Orthodox tradition Jewish blood is specifically matrilineal - hence the Nazi specific obsession with exterminating Jewish women. Not sure how that would interact with a Jewish mother/outsider father since neither Comparative Theology nor Levitical Law are within my areas of expertise, but... and it's worth noting that not all branches of Judaism view things the same way, we're seeing an ethnicity and a religion that share a name and some people but considerably less than total overlap of the Venn Diagram. I get the impression that many American Secular Left Jews are mostly "in blood" and only talk about or practice tenets of the faith when i suits their purposes to do so and set them aside when they become less than convenient, rather akin to a Biden-Pelosi "Catholic[*snort*]."

I guess if your looking at it from an ethnic standpoint. They would be half Jewish.

If you're mother was Jewish, you're considered Jewish: "Orthodox Judaism practices matrilineal descent. Orthodox Judaism holds that anyone with a Jewish mother also has irrevocable Jewish status; that even were such a Jew to convert to another religion, that person would still be considered Jewish by Jewish Law."

Not sure if one is viewed as Jewish by Orthodox Judaism by practicing the faith vs formally converting, but I don't think so. Various religions require formal/specific initiations, such as Catholic Church one must receive the three sacraments of Christian initiation, Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, to be accepted as being a Catholic.

I dated a girl who parents were Orthodox Jewish and they sat me down and told me that if I planned to beyond short term dating of their daughter I'd have to convert to Judaism to be accepted member of the family. The invited me to all high holidays and were very accepting nice people about it. Had many a Jewish friend ranging from reformed/non practicing to Orthodox, all nice generally accepting people. I also met some ultra-Orthodox, usually Hasidic, that I enjoyed dealing with far less.
