Now there was a time when the same thing happened to the HK SL8-1 and we later were offered the SL8-6, but I don't see that happening with the ARX from Beretta.
Well don't take my word for it. Call them yourself. 1.800.BERETTA 1-800-237-3882.

So I wasn't doubting you, I was doubting the information they provided to you.

How did these do with a suppressor?

Specifically, how is the muzzle thread shoulder?

Oh, didn't notice this was a 5 yr old thread! I was thinking one or two.

The barrel shoulder on mine was straight enough not to destroy a Silencerco Omega with 5.56 endcap.

The big problem with them is that they're overgassed as hell with a can. They'll function, but you'll get sandblased every shot unless maybe you're using a low backpressure suppressor.

It would be possible to remove the gas block, determine which of the two gas ports gets opened up when the "adverse" setting is selected, then have the hole for the "normal" setting threaded with a chamfer at the top to capture a modified set screw head. Then have someone make some matching set screws with holes drilled longitudinally through the screw of different diameters to allow adjustment of the gas. Kind of like the SCAR.

Or, you could take an unobtanium 16" barrel (they don't make them any more), cut it down inch by inch, testing each time for function, and effectively change the Normal/Adverse settings into Suppressed/Normal settings via shortened dwell time.

BTW I got the distinct impression that the guy who runs Beretta's production is a Super Fudd and sort of torpedoed the ARX because it was complicated and he didn't like it to begin with. Look at their catalogue now: nothing but flannel-ear-flap-hat-wearing Fudd crap.

Unfortunately the ARX has gone the way of the Sig 5XX Piston guns and the Dodo bird. Sad to say.

I like the ARX100 especially for the current $ they’re going for. I’m keeping mine and like it better than the JAKL, carmel, BRN 180, Galil Ace and Crusader Templar, all of which I had in my collection until recently. I would say the only thing that compares to it in terms of performance for the dollar is the Brigade Makasi FAL/ AR hybrid.
