A pretty nice 2 piece FF that uses the factory barrel nut. Mimics the KAC rail height and width. Installed:

I must say that I think $40 is the right price for this rail. I would not consider this a strong rail at all. I've busted rails before and really am not an "ounces" fag when it comes to that part of the formula.
Here you can see thinness in the vent holes area compared to a KAC RAS.
The concept is great, but this thing would not be a combat rail at all.

The 4 fasteners that hold the bottom piece to the rest of the rail don't get a lot of "bite" in the threading. All of the fasteners feel like they'd come loose without a serious cleaning and some blue loctite.
I also compared the thickness of the rail to my BCM QRF, which I love. The QRF falls between the KAC and this OTIS as far as thickness. And honestly the QRF already makes me nervous in the beef department.
So the OTIS is something I would mount nothing but rail covers on. You run a big light or a VFG roughly on this thing and it's going to break.

So basically a fairly decent cheap, inexpensive placeholder that looks the part until you can come up with a real rail. I can dig it.
Thanks for taking a hit for the team, Mark. I was debating one of those, I'll just save my money.

The lack of heat sheild too... At first I was liking it because the dimensions are good, but damn. It's doable on a target carbine, but man.

It looks to be certainly adequate to mount a white light and sling for a home defense gun for someone on a budget. Not everyone is at the tip of the spear, but when shit goes bump in the night, this could be a comfort.
