This feels different. It's not a military attacking, it is direct terrorism against people - and the hostages ( and I bet 10%+ are US citizens) are going to lead to a long, protracted event.

And it just happens that they are experts on the Old Testament... We need to put Palestinian into the same historical box as Carthaginians.. After three or four wars, someone decides that you are not playing well with others and removes you from the board game. We've coddled these Palestinians long enough.

This may be what gets them to go kinetic against the Iranian bomb program.
