I went on a hunt a few years ago at a hog ranch. Never again.

Yeah, that is BS.

I knew two places in Florida trying to get hogs off their land.

One guy was "come shoot them, take them...thank you." His only concerns were nobody shooting his livestock, being able to tell the difference and making sure everyone knew what they were doing and weren't gonna shoot each other. He had a guy who would go out with you to make sure you didn't just shoot up a bunch of stuff and leave a mess. After a short time he has "regulars" who would come out almost every month to knock down the population.

Another guy treated it like he was offering an African safari experience, which he promoted on the net and actually charged all kinds of fees.

One of the hogs shot looked like a normal hog and had 4h tagged ear!! most were feral hogs now, but I think he was either raising them or bringing trapped hogs in and releasing them in his 200 acre pen. It was a business pure and simple, not a true help the land out deal.

Wish I could find such a guy. I'm not much of a hunter, but taking out an invasive destructive animal that costs livelihood of people, etc, I'd hunt. There's some hog hunting outfits in FL that have a good rep, but that would be a much better set up.
