    Rock Island's new "RIA 5.0"

Wonder if this is all it's cracked up to be?

"The general idea of many of the RIA 5.0’s design features is to reduce the pistol’s felt recoil. Designed by Fred Craig, the pistol uses the ‘Ram Valve System’, a patented linear locking system, which combined with its low bore axis is intended to make for a very controllable pistol.

The pistol is available in two configurations, the standard model with traditional sights and the SP with a smooth slide with no provision for iron sights and factory mated with a C-MORE RTS2 red dot optic."

Looks cool as hell. Nice to see a gun co bringing innovative products to the market.
I tried to follow the science but it simply was not there. I then followed the money, thats where i found the science.

The specs say E100 Cerakote which is what I use on my 80% lowers.

It is a good coating with some inherent lubricity.

    Interesting.

Very interesting design. I would be interested in a slightly smaller version. My only concern is the lack of a manual safety. It's a hammer fired pistol with a 2.5 lb trigger pull.
