Got the lower/upper/rail back from cerakote only to realize I had already used my last decent trigger. So thumb twiddling until Wednesday.

Bolted a new red dot sight on my AR6951. Tomorrow I'll sight her in and do some shootin'.
Mounted a Nikon Black 1-4 scope using a 30mm Aero SPR mount - actually got the scope level on the first try (not a given with these mounts).
Swapped it onto my 16" BRT AR and took it to the range for zeroing. Scope is very clear and appears to be a true 1X, but the "speed force" reticle took a little getting used to. I do like the 2 MOA center dot for 100 yard shooting at 4x.
I primarily wanted to ensure there are no issues with the scope and there are no concerns there. Probably the best $200 AR scope with illumination out there.
I did manage to find a round the BRT/Sionics BCG/H2 buffer would choke on - some factory second Fed 55 gr. frangibles. They were too weak and caused short stroking and failure to lock back. Too bad, I thought they may be useful for shooting smaller pests with reduced ricochet risk.

I spent FOUR HOURS cleaning my main AR. I've had it 20 years and it has never been so clean. I was outside listening to the ball game (11 innings). So I was cleaning almost the whole time. I don't think there's even so much as a virus on the bolt or carrier. It would pass any DI's white glove test.
Fixed this today.

I gave my AR a nice deep clean today after taking an all day class in the sand yesterday

Visible sand in/on the bolt/chamber. Did not bother the rifle. It wasn’t a “torture test” amount of sand though

Replaced my Aero lower with a BCM Blem from G&R.
