People should be watching Senate Bill 1657 closely. If enacted, it will adversely affect several hundred small business owners and over 2.1 million firearm owners.

Rock River Arms and Springfield Armory are catching a lot of heat over the bill. Their support for the bill was the impetus for people to start digging up information about both companies. Information has come to light about the IFMA and their support for anti-Second Amendment politicians.

People had better start calling their Congressmen and Representatives and voicing their concerns about this piece of legislation.

I'm glad it died (for now) and I am glad SA and RRA ended up doing the right thing after absolutely dropping the ball big time.

I'm not from Illinois but I get pretty good info and feedback on what's going on there legislation-wise. My impression, recent years: the gun controllers are on their heels, feeling the heat from real, everyday Illinoisans, and finding that lies and shrill emotional rhetoric are no longer as effective against commons sense and truth. Their curtain of BS is dissipating. But-- as always, let up on the pressure and they will rebound like cockroaches.

Would it be too far off to say that Illinois is the California of the Midwest? If that is so, with the advancements made in recent years, IL can be seen as an example and might just represent a tipping point in helping relieve the legislative constipation in states further east. Good job people, keep it up!

Illinois certainly is the California of the Midwest but we have made alot of progress on our gun rights. There was once a time not very long ago at all, that Chicago was far worse than anywhere in California. That is no longer the case.

Having said that the anti gun crowd is getting more and more organized with the funneling in of Bloomberg money. They can't be discounted.
