"You have the right to remain silent..."
http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/17/us/san...ing/index.htmlA friend and former neighbor of San Bernardino, California, attacker Syed Rizwan Farook was arrested by the FBI on Thursday and faces three charges.
Enrique Marquez, 24, is accused of conspiring with Farook to provide material support to terrorism, making a false statement in connection with the acquisition of firearms, and immigration fraud, according to a statement from the Department of Justice.

What does that mean exactly? He lied on his forms he filled out? You mean people can lie to acquire fire arms and still pass background checks? Who knew? That bold part is the essential aspect here to how the anti 2A types handle this. They jumped out of the gate in a millisecond claiming the evil guns used in this event were purchased legally, which was "proof" more gun laws are needed to prevent future events. So not only did the couple not purchase the guns at all, but this guy didn't get them legally either? As usual, something don't smell right and I suspect the truth will be yet more proof gun laws only impact those law abiding types who follow laws.

So it was a straw purchase and the dude lied on the form? You don't say... It's not like the Feds haven't done the same thing or encouraged it like in Fast and Furious
Reads a lot, posts little.
But after more than six months of research and tracking; over 1,200 law enforcement actions and more than 300 terrorists identified; and a commendation for our efforts; DHS shut down the investigation at the request of the Department of State and DHS’ own Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Division. They claimed that since the Islamist groups in question were not Specially Designated Terrorist Organizations (SDTOs) tracking individuals related to these groups was a violation of the travelers’ civil liberties. These were almost exclusively foreign nationals: When were they granted the civil rights and liberties of American citizens?
Worse still, the administration then went back and erased the dots we were diligently connecting. Even as DHS closed my investigation, I knew that data I was looking at could prove significant to future counterterror efforts and tried to prevent the information from being lost to law enforcement. In 2013, I met with the DHS Inspector General in coordination with several members of Congress to attempt to warn the American people’s elected representatives about the threat.

But they are still investigating possible hate crimes against poor innocent muslims right?
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.

I have to wonder if the probe was shut down so there would be attacks justifying new "gun control" measures and other encroachments on our rights.
I also would like to know how many of these suspects that have their names on various "watch lists" are also on the White House visitor log . . .
