Hello folks from Birmingham Alabama. I've lurked here a few times and figured I'd make it official. I'm new to here but far from new to firearms. I'm the Manager of Training/Chemical Weapons/Defensive Tactics Instructor for a high end private security firm. Prior to this career I did 4 years in a Marine Corps ground combat unit. I'll try to bring as much to the table here as I take away. Cheers!

Hey guys been reading up here for some time and decided to finally join up! I have been assembling my first AR for a few months and you guys have been invaluable in my progress and saved me a ton of time and money....I hope I can help some out here in the future.

Hi guys,

Since I joined nearly 2 years ago, I thought I should probably post something. I've done quite a bit of shooting over the years from extreme long range (1200yds +) to pretty serious Cowboy action shooting for several years (30-40k rounds/year in practice). I used info on this site to build my first AR 2 years ago (Seekins upper/lower, JP LPK, JP low mass BCG, adjustable gas, JP supermatch 18" barrel, Geissele S3G trigger, Magpul UBR, captured spring buffer spring). To say the least, the rifle really rocks, double taps that sound nearly like a single shot! And easy .75"/100yd groups (many at .5" or just under) 5shot groups.

Anyway, I did some serious Black Friday shopping and will be building up a couple lowers I got last year for Black Friday! Trying to go cheap on most everything, just so I can do a comparison with my 'serious AR'. The one thing I'll never scrimp on is the trigger (using Geissele SSA on both builds) but all the rest of the parts are Black Friday specials.

Hello All,

I've been lurking here for about a month, since putting together my first AR. I assembled the lower, but figured I'd be better off buying a complete upper until I learned some more. It's a BCM 16" mid with a 13" kmr. I'm now in the process of putting together a 8" 300blk pistol.
