The BCG that I have bought from them, and the uppers that included BCG specified in detail all the materials. Of course, they were all the "premium" ones. I notice the none premium ones usually do not.

Here is a description I found. I will admit it is not as detailed as some of the ones I have purchased in the past.

"Made in USA. Bolt is made of Mil-spec Carpenter 158 steel, Shot peened, High pressure tested and Mag Particle Inspected. Gas key is machined out of bar stock, chrome lined phosphate coated, and secured with grade 8 fasteners and staked per mil-spec. Bolt carrier is phosphated outside and chrome lined inside. Laser engraved with the PSA logo.

I got some spare bolts out of the safe and they happen to belong a Rainier BCG and a Premium PSA BCG. Rainier Arms did not specify material of the bolt but it did state it was MIL-Spec and MPI, so who knows what it is made out of. The bolt is marked MPI only. The Gaskey is MIM and the staking is better on the PSA. The PSA bolt is marked HPT/MPI and PSA claims mil-spec 158c steel contruction. Both BCG's perform flawlessly.

Rifle Kit that was ordered on 12/17 is scheduled to arrive tomorrow 1/9. In this case, that's an even 18 business days from order date to arrival.

    Wow,

The PSA rep has been MIA since 12-18-13 at 17:57 and I still cant get through on the phones or get them to answer a e-mail.

Gotta love the Customer Service, best in the business!

I ordered a PTAC 300blk upper without realizing it was a PTAC. I couldn't get through on the phone so I emailed them. My cancelation email was sent 12/30, I got a reply 03JAN, and my CC was refunded today. I think they're just overwhelmed with the holidays and the price point they sell things at.

Sorry to resurrect the monster again. Posting the pics I said I would of my buddy"s PSA that arrived Thursday. I assembled today.
Weak gas key staking, and no HPT/MPI bolt. Consistent with their non "premium" option:

Tough to get a good picture of them, but the feed ramps are very well aligned:

Barrel was of typical FN CHF quality:

I just ordered another PSA upper. It was barreled upper with an FN CHF ultra lightweight (I believe their version of a pencil) profile. 340 with no BCG. While I have good luck with their BCGs so far, I am glad it did not come with one because with the cost savings I can put the money towards a better bcg. BCM sells their CHF barreled upper for 535 I think. With the 200 in savings that will pay for a quality bolt. I am debating between BCM, rainer NIB, and a centurion C4 at the moment.

So with a quality barrel, and a quality bolt, that does not leave much for PSA to screw up. To me, going this route is a no brainer but YMMV.

They don't look very well aligned to me. In fact they are a few mm off at least.
