The AUG is a good example of a weapon developed and fielded by a country with no recent combat experience ( since 1945)

No doubt about our peaceful recent history (the not so recent one was bloody enough), but I really would like to point out, that the Australians
didn't purchase Steyr's extended technical data package! They run into all kinds of troubles because of this lacking knowledge. Their F88 got
better but (call me a patriot for this) IMHO it is like comparing an original Colt M4 to any of the non-tdp civilian clones. Lokks the same, but
qualitywise it certainly isn't.

Pretty sure the original remark referred to Austria... Australia's been involved in combat since '45, Austria not quite so much.
