These look pretty sweet! The technology sounds like it's pretty amazing if it actually holds up in the field. Have any of you had any use with their auto tinting goggles or motorcycle helmet visors?

I wonder if it's similar to auto-darkening welding helmets?

I always think of those when I see vids of people tossing a flashbang and then looking away. What if your glasses reacted fast enough to let you already be looking in, and moving as the bang goes off? Maybe it wouldn't help at all. I've never had one go off in front of me to compare...

I have never seen a flashbang go off but i thought they were supposed to be bright enough to temporarily blind you even if your eyes were closed. That would have to be some pretty dark tint if thats the case.

This isn't very new. I have auto-tinting glasses and have for a few years.

Dark enough to let you stare directly at a welding arc for a while.

these glasses are quoted at reacting in a 1/4 second. definitely not fast enough for a flash bang, but plenty fast for going from full sunlight into a structure.

i wonder if a welding helmet would even be fast enough for a flash bang...

You must be talking about those old Transition prescription glasses they advertised on TV that turn from light to dark.

IIRC they had some far out advanced sci fi modern civilization theme using an ugly female model to promote them like they are high tech.
