    SIG SAPR

Saw this pic at www.lundestudios.com for SIG at the Shot Show.

Does this mean SIG will be selling this to the civilian market?

Also, if so, will quality be more SIG 556 or SIG 550?

That would be a step in the right direction for SIG.

Still, I'd have to wait and see it up close and get plenty of feedback from 101 trusted sources before ever buying a SIG carbine.

    Looks 556ish.

No diopter rear of front hooded sights, add on flash hider. Not sure I'd bother, I have plenty of great .308s already from G3s to FALs.

Now if they brought a true SIG .308 I'd be all over it.

I don't believe this is SIG SAUER, I believe this is at at LE sales booth, this is the REAL deal. The ''SG-XXX'' leads me to that conclusion.

    Why a proprietary mag?

They should use the sr25 mag.

I don't believe this rifle will ever be for sale to civilians in the U.S.

    100% swiss SG 571.

Originally designed to accept M14 magazines. Not sure if they can still accept them, or if they only work with the proprietary swiss mags.

    I suspected that.

And it really wouldn't matter either.

We already have 4 major designs, the G3, FAL, M14, and AR10.

It was at the LE part of the Sig booth. No go for the rest of us.
