The SCAR-17S is on my very short list of 2012 gun purchases, thanks in no small part to this thread.

Same here, if only FN would fulfill my order. Yeah I can have one from Gun Broker but I refuse to pay 3,000+ for one. They are great guns but not that great..

Maybe with 5 or 6 extra mags I would think about that kind of figure, but you are right that is a lot for this plastic rifle.

Really, they're worth 3k in terms of the capabilities they offer.

Nothing significant. I actually haven't had a chance to shoot it in awhile. I've been thinking about picking up a personal SR heavy but like a lot of you I'm waiting for the magazine situation to improve. I wish they'd designed them to take KAC/Pmags.

There have & are several SCAR 17S's FDE & BLK one's for less on GB now/recently at the $2,795/$2,800.00 price point some w/ 1 extra mag.

It's not in FNH's interest to make ubiquitous mags.

As most already know, Military get's priority as they should.

I just scored 5 spare magazines and it turned this into a completely different rifle.

I was so frustrated with the mag situation I was ready to sell the damn gun. I know it sounds crazy, but having the ability to do magazine changes made it clear what a capable weapon this really is.
