    BCM BCG and o-ring

I just finished putting my rifle together. It's a BCM M4 16" carbine, Spikes lower and Palmetto State Armory MOE lower build kit.

Anyway, the BGC is a BCM M16 and came with the black extractor spring insert installed as well as the little o-ring sealed in the package. The o-ring is not currenly installed. Will I need it on the extractor? Or try running without it first?

Am I correct in assuming its purpose is adding extra pressure on the extractor?

What the f*ck is up with all of the clone threads lately? Please use the ORANGE search button at the top. I know for a fact that there is an O-ring thread going right now.
